Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Question

I am wanting to get into the gunner classes any tips?

I am having a lot of trouble on the black gravios HR6 GH
Have tried to kill it multiple times, sick of my weapons bouncing so i decided that I want to try using a bowgun on it. So i would like to know, recommended bowguns and a recommended Armour set.

I am currently HR6 and, 9 stars on the village elder cat quests.

If you put this out on the board you "might" get more options. But for my advice since your HR6, LBG's are the way to go from my POV. Most LBG come with a "Rapid Fire" of different types and mobility, reloading and recoil isn't too bad. HBG have power/looks but you walk and it takes around 3 moments to put your weapon away in which case any fast/large moving beast can charge and critical/kill you if your too slow. :/ Bows are great for breaking parts, but best used for support when your in a party. My advice for use for solo bowing is on small elder dragons (not on Kusha though) and Fatalis. As for armour sets... Cean S, Guild Blue/Red, Death Stench S, Azure Rath U, Red Khezu U, Herm U, and Those bug armours aren't too bad either. Its really up to you with what you like though. D: GL with your hunting. If my advice wasn't any good then hopefully another hunter will do better.
