Monster Hunter 3 gets a HD remake on Wii U, but is it more than just a pretty face? Ashton Raze finds out in this video review.

2 user reviews so far. Graphics are not on par with current gen. There I almost thought this would be a ''potential buy'' if I ever buy a WiiU. The game still looks fun enough to try.

Don't know if other games are ever close to this, just attacking monsters. It's a great excellent HD  port from the Wii version. The Wii version will stick to offline play after April 30, 2013. When I get the Wii U, I'll definitely check out which version works with me.

Lol... so many times when I watched the review my mind kept screaming, "ROLL!! DODGE!!! ROLL!!"

Haha Monster Hunter is a challenging game. Even though I personally rate it at a 10, I thought this was a good review.

@zyxahn i agree its cretinous, i also hate the use of 'thus far' (last time i checked thus approximately means 'implies that' so 'thus far' is nonsense)

I only got Tri in mid 2011 and since then I've put in over 400+ hours of gameplay. I can't wait to play this. This game is truly a system seller. If you own a Wii U and haven't played Tri then what are you waiting for? Get this NOW!

Ashton Raze?? That definitely sounds like a pseudonym.

And I don't mean to offend, but am I right to assume that MH is maybe an easier more colorful & cartoony version of Dark Souls. Not saying its ripping DS, i know MH came out first. But am I right to assume that they are very similar? DS is one of my favorite games of all time.

@bonzaibillie Hmm... sounds like you didn't try MH before. Couldn't blame you, they do LOOK similar. Try spend an hour in MH, it would change your mind. :)

@bonzaibillie It's definitely not easier. And you don't ever level up or have any sort of a skill tree. You don't even gain more health throughout the game. It's all based on the equipment you use.

@comb5 @bonzaibillie I don't understand why so many people compare MH to DS. They're both amazing games that have a steep/punishing style, but the whole experience is pretty different.

IMO MH is more based in crafting and coop fighting monsters that have fighting behaviors, while DS is a tough (and skill based too) dungeon crawler/action RPG.

@Win-InTheEnd Nope. You're just special and can't work out why the toolbars you have installed on internet explorer are causing you problems.

@Xizle I asked a question and got a stupid answer, well, your family must share a brain, but unfortunately it's not your turn today , I'm not even using Internet Explorer!

MH5 will probably have real time visuals that match the opening cinematic for this. Graphics or not though, I'm having a super awesome time with this game. Kill, grind, farm, craft; I love it. Any game I can sink 100+ hours into is more than welcome in my library.

@snaketus @comb5 I don't like have to rely on other people to complete quests. I love playing locally with my real friends, but never been a big fan of online multiplayer with games other than FPSs.
