My "as a Mom" review

User Rating: 6 | Monster House PS2
Monster House is a very cute, little game. When I say little, I mean it, I played the entire game in less than ten hours. I have to give it a mixed reaction because to adults the game definately was too simple but to a child, this game I think would definately be too hard. It has many jump out at you parts where you have to press the right button with split second timing. The end chase scene, my 12 year old son couldn't even do. I even had some difficulty. The only saves are the bathrooms, which are spaced way too far apart so in the event that you die, it could take some time before you reach the spot you were at again. The other problem was though there are many health items they are not carryable and the game closes doors and blocks them behind you as you progress. Which means if you don't need health and leave three pop cans behind you then a red chair does a number on you and suddenly you are in need of your left behind health, there is no going back to pick them up. The game is beautiful, looks exactly like the movie, but because of it's mixed difficulty that some children could find frustrating and it's extremely short nature I have to say it's definately just a rental.
