Guybrush 1 - Lechuck 1

There was a time were everything was possible. When creativity was really well paid due to several fans. A time when piracy was only in its begining, and companies use to charge 30$ for a 5-6 MB game.
Nowadays nobody would buy a game that "small" for such a price unless it would allow you a direct access to the Bank of England's hidden reserves of foreign currency. Well, I say nobody, but probably a bunch of romantic gamers who still remember how much fun was to go throw a game like this was would buy it.
I have recently be in touch with Lucasarts so I could buy a Mega Monkey bundle pack (Monkey Island I, II, III and IV) but they have none in stock and, never, ever is gonna be edited for sale anymore.
As long as I see children's tv programs nowadays I am more and more sure about the lucky I was living my childhood and teenage years in between the 80s and the 90s. They obviously are not gonna live what we lived. But there are certain things that are not to be missed. I am a guy from the end of the 20th century and I know who Chesterton was or who Dostoyevsky was. They are all open doors to expression that keeps your eyes and your mouth wide open for a long time.
Monkey Island in his way is also a door. A place where you have to think in other way, where you are able to be a pirate in the way pirates weren't, where you must be the most clever, the craziest pirate in the craziest archipielago imaginable.
Hopefully this is not lost forever. I still think on the old pirates' movies with Errol Flynn and others where galleons looked like galleons and where you could almost smell the sea, the sweet, the blood... Maybe they are also lost forever.
