Prince of Persia movie gets screenwriter

Jerry Bruckheimer-produced adaptation of Ubisoft platform-actioner will be written by The Day After Tomorrow's Jeffrey Nachmanoff.

Nearly two years after it was first revealed, it appears the Prince of Persia movie is moving forward. Respected underground film-news Web site Dark Horizons is reporting that screenwriter Jeffrey Nachmanoff has signed on to the project, which is being produced by Hollywood uberproducer Jerry Bruckheimer. Besides the 1993 short The Big Gig, Nachmanoff's sole screenwriting credit is the 2004 eco-disaster film The Day After Tomorrow, directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, the 1998 Godzilla remake). No release date for the big-screen adaptation of the Ubisoft action-platformer has been set, and no actors or director have signed on to the project.

If there is going to be a Prince of Persia movie they should cast wrestler CM Punk to play the Prince.

The film might also be a lot better if the writer ties in all 3 games into a 3 hour length movie, or, make a trilogy. The second idea is more obvious and would be better.

If this is done right, it has the potential to become one of the greatest movies of all time, however, what keeps the player engrossed in a game is completely different to what keeps a viewer engrossed in a movie. For example, for thr P.O.P movie, it would be total crap to just have 2 hours of just watching someone play the game. They would have change the storyline almost entirely in order to make the movie enjoyable. Then again, Pirates 1, 2 and 3 are fantastic and so is The Day after Tomorrow. I have total faith in Jerry and Jeffrey!

So then, in the middle of the Iraq occupation, we are making a movie where the hero is the Prince of Persia?

Wow can't wait, I think they should pick an actor who can play a young prince as well as a matured one like the one in Warrior Within.

P.S: Charlie Clausen has been casted as the prince. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0165310/

I think Orlando Bloom may be a good choice for the part of the Prince, but an unkown who has a strong resemblence to the Prince may be a good way to go.

Ver good... I´m looking forward to this, I just hope it doesn´t turn into a tasteless piece of garbage like Final Fantasy or Tomb Raider...

I don´t think that guy from lost would do it justice... hell, I resemble the Prince more than that! I bet, if they announced a casting for the Prince, lots upon lots of fans who resemble him would go, and probably one or two with some artistical gymnastic background could pull it off very well...

I dont think we need to worry to much about this movie. from what ive heard, its not gonna be based directly from any of the games, but just take the idea and make a movie. like how the pirates of the carrabien was based off the ride. ive always loved the idea, even from the first 2d vesions of POP, so i think the movie would be awsome

Excelente!!!!
