The best of all the Gundam games!

User Rating: 9.5 | Kidou Senshi Gundam: Meguriai Sora (Limited Box) PS2
This game was absolutely magnificent. It was great from beginning to end. It had everything you ever wanted, create a character mode, versus where you could have two computer allies for back up (one on the field at a time), and fast paced action that sometimes even included interactive parts flying and blasting your way through space to get to the next mission area.
To start off, the graphics were good. You can't expect much from a PS2 game, but this one did deliver you good graphics. The giant Mechas were cool looking and even more fun to watch in action.
Next, we will look at the cut scenes. Now you might be thinking, "damn those Gundam games for having crappy in game cut scenes were all you do is hide behind a rock and try to survive." However, in this game the majority of the major cut scenes are all in anime. Even the in game cut scenes, where you are fighting your way through the battle field, are great. They truly do make you feel like the hero of the story.
The game play itself was wonderful. It was fast past and included a variety of weapons and mechas for you to control. There are plenty of unlock able cut scenes to watch, and MANY missions to play through. This game will include ace pilot mode, which has around 8 campaigns with 1-5 missions each. It also has Thoroughbred, which aloud you to play through a great story line, and it has White Base. Now White Base was a long chunk of game play, being that it covered most of the original series, so you won't be disappointed. The sounds and explosions are about the same as the rest of the games, and the music is pretty fantastic with a few expectations.
On top of everything I just mentioned the one thing that really sticks out is the pilot mode. In this mode you can play through 8 missions of your choosing. You will choose one of six character portraits of what you want your pilot to look like and level his stats up after each mission. The missions themselves may give you a different amount of experience in different categories depending on the objective and difficultly. If you pass all the missions you will end up with pilot that performs spectacular. My main pilot is a New Type Three! These characters, once completed and saved, are unlocked for your enjoyment in multiplayer mode.
So there you have it, those are the main features of Encounters in Space. A must have for any Gundam fan, and it is a game that will deliver enjoyment time and time again. The game got me so interested in Gundam; I even watched 0083 just to learn more about the story!
