so what about it makes it a 7.5????  nothing about RTTS changes or lack thereof.

Marko has to be the only reviewer who thinks the commentary on this game is good. It's awful. The perfect baseball game would be the looks of Show, the commentary of 2k12, the pitching from 2k12, and the hitting from 2k12.

@smoothyplum26 Well the commentary in 2k12 was great. However I thought the pitching was meh, and the overall gameplay wasn't nearly as good as The Show's

It is unclear why this was rated 1/2 point lower than last year....

LMAO Micro Machine guy!?! Dude, I totally forgot about that guy!

This reviewer seemed nervous...like it was public speaking day or something...if you're recording this, you should do a more professional job of speaking at a SLOWER pace, not talking like the guy who used to do Micro Machines commericals in the late 80s. I have a feeling there's a lot more depth to the game than they are telling us. I'll stick with MLB 10 for now, but some parts look much better...

packed stadiums... talk about an unrealistic simulation..

This is the second gamespot reviewer who rushes through his review like an awkward third grader giving a book report. He didn't really say so I'm not sure why the score has gone down if they are delivering a comparable experience, stagnation maybe? I think I'll stick with 11 for the time being.

@JustPlainLucas same here, except it was Super bases loaded that i played last. kinda fell away from gaming for awhile (other then mod-ing and hacking just for the fun, I had every snes rom, but never played any!) now i do purchase my games if deemed worthy.

JustPlainLucas

@wowwow27 This is my first baseball game in years. I think the last one was MLB 08 for the PSP, which I really loved. The Show just seems brutally unforgiving to me. Hopefully, I can continue to improve.

wowwow27

@JustPlainLucas I had the same problem, i got killed in the seventh inning of my first game, but I think this game has a bell curve going for its learning factor, plus being a baseball player (at heart) helps.

JustPlainLucas
JustPlainLucas

@wowwow27 It was rather rough for me to get the hang of. I was playing on Rookie getting my butt handed to me. I'm doing better, so it's not so bad, but the presentation of the game is sorely lacking.

Learn how to review a game. Talk about all the features not just one or two. Who ever made this guy a reviewer should be fired.

Good grief people... you should maybe take a second and understand that for the last few months, Gamespot has seemed to make a company-wide change to their review scale. It used to be 10=excellent, 9=great, 8=good, 7 or less=terrible (whether this is what they meant or not, that's how it would come off). But NOW it's 10=greatest game ever, 9=amazing, 8=excellent, 7=great, 6=good, 5=average, etc... which is the way reviews should be made. 7.5 is a very good score for a game that is mostly recycled from years past, minus a new pitching/batting mechanic, Move support, and new animations. So once you get over the lack of score inflation, you'll see that reviews will start making much more sense.

Im getting sick of gamespot reviews . In the past 3 months there have been so many bad reviews and harsh scores on games that were very good games.

Whoever can't see the difference between The Show and MLB 2K needs to get an eye checkup. 2K looks like a PS2 game. Also... meter pitching has always been the best and don't care about the move controls. Just want the old school controls with the new ball physics and updated animations etc... Enough complaints about the difficulty. Go play Mario Baseball if you want an easy hit every at bat. The Show is for the BIG BOYS!!!

This is a great baseball game as well as 2K...They just play differently

SLAMMIN23
SLAMMIN23

this is a true baseball people need to understand 2k sports needs to stop with the 2ks baseball games cause the show is way better every year and gameplay is better on the show then 2k 2k is always glitchy and buggy

anyone know if bryce harper in the game?

Celtic_34
Celtic_34

the shows graphics are good per usual but that's where it ends. The game is exactly the same and the show has really struggled to offer anything new that's worthwhile. new controls, modes etc all suck. move support is only a gimmick and not a real way to play this game minus a couple games. 2k has the better gameplay, better controls, better online play. Better stat utilization. It just doesnt look as nice. 2k if you can look past the surface graphics is actually really the better game this year.

Thanks for completely leaving out any mention of game modes. Dynasty mode is so dumb I didn't even want it talked about.

So is MLB2k11 or MLB 12 better? I'm looking into buying a baseball game, and I've never played one before.

theJBlounge

Thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to trying it out with the Move. And why do people care so much about a 7.5? lol Did the score ruin your week? I don't think multi-billion dollar Sony's feelings are hurt.

ugly review, robot type, explain why the 7.5?

I was waiting for the review to justify the 2.5 but then it finished only thing I got wat that it has a hard learning curve.......wtf is goin on here.

Awful review. 95% positive comments with phenomenal looking gameplay clips. Nearly no negative points made in the review and it gets a 7.5??? WTF? If it's a 7.5, tell us why. Did The Show not pay for enough advertising, Gamespot?

EPaul

No mention of multiplayer and barely anything negative was said and the game gets a 7.5 ?

Top notch presentation. I really liked the pitching from last year though and I wish they improved upon it instead of redoing it completely.

EA need to take note of the graphics on the fans.. As much as I love FIFA it seems they spend their entire budget on making Wayne Rooney's false hair look good. The graphics on the crowds are diabolical. This game looks damn decent though :)

itchyflop

looks good though may buy it on vita

itchyflop

is it multiplayer ? (i assume it will be or it ll be very poor indeed) and if it is surely the batter can see where the pitcher is throwing the ball, with the circle ?

vivalatour

The learning curve on batting looks to be where I may pick up a bat again and give this game a swing ...

Egotte

MLB 2K12 will be the better game this year. There's a reason The Show keeps trying to play catch up with 2K's much better hitting/pitching. We've been able to control where we hit the ball in 2K for a long time now, where this is something very new to The Show.
