Console Experience on a Handheld Device

User Rating: 9.5 | MLB 12: The Show VITA
Exactly as the Gamespot review says, "SCEA's San Diego Studio has delivered a game (MLB 12: The Show) that is nearly identical to its console big brother". It's a handheld game that is very comparable to the console version. The ground floor already compares… boy oh boy …man oh man… I'm excited for the future..
I was surprised the GS review didn't mention the new cross platform cross-over. MLB 12: The Show is the first game to feature the ability to play on your PS3, save the game, and then walk out of your house while playing the same game on your Vita. Makes an early bus ride to school a whole lot better.
… Mom or wife calling you to leave to go somewhere, but you're 8 minutes from a hard-fought save point… gamer CRISIS !!! The Vita will eliminate that age-old problem. And who wouldn't love to spend travel time leveling up their favorite character. MLB 12 save feature is working and astonishes at least the first 5 or 6 times you try it.
I fired up the Vita "show" and from moment one I couldn't believe how amazing the graphics look. It's without a doubt the most beautiful handheld game I've ever seen. And it truly is the console experience. Nothing about it feels dummied down. I just can't believe it.
I was someone who was the tiniest bit reluctant about the cash dropped to get this device and some games. NOW I KNOW … the future of this device is very bright. The second thumb-stick gives you real controls and the graphics are just astonishing. I would have never dreamed of playing a baseball game on my PSP but the Vita holds up really well.
Lastly, for the record I have systems from every maker and have been a core gamer since 1988 on my NES. But I had an Atari, Coleco, and P.C. long before that. I don't care who makes it, if it's great I want to play it.
