MLB 11 The Show absolutely blows all competition out of the water. Year after year, this series remains the best.
I used to play MLB 2k9 a lot. I was out of video games for a while and hadn't played much of the 2k series. Before this I played Nintendo 64's All-Star baseball 99 and Hardball 99 on the first PS.
Anyway, I had been watching the video on youtube of the gameplay for The Show and decided to borrow a PS3 and play it. I got hooked. I worked up over 40 dollars worth of fees from Redbox in ONE STINT alone on this game.
I cannot possibly list the details that this game has the the 2k series doesn't, but it really is a matter of Major league vs. Tee ball. The 2k series is absolutely hideous compared to this.
I have heard that The Show 11 isn't improved much from last year's version, and I can't speak to that, but I can say that coming from the 2k series on the 360 I now want to buy a PS3 JUST for this game. This is quite possibly the best, or 2nd best sports game, or game in general I have ever played. The abundance of features and little things which are so "baseball" that have been included in here is amazing. The only thing that's missing is the constant bubbles of gum from players and spitting seeds in the outfield. You just have to play it.
