MLB 08, MLB 09 are the best sports games period.

Kinda boring actually! The roundup makes it seem as though The Show is only slightly superior to 2K8 and the difference is much farther apart than that. The Road To The Show mode was also glossed over when it is a major mode in the game. The ability to create a player, pick their position, their pitches if they're a pitcher and use points earned during game performances to upgrade that player's stats. Plus Sony's doing a much better job this year with roster updates. They've been coming out weekly since spring training.
