MI:OS could have well been an excellent game. It probably has the perfect license, and it is actually and overall good game, but there are some serious flaws that make the game feel unfinished in quite a few respects. First off is the graphics. They are good in some places, however, the frame rate does get a little jerky, and it is all rather low-res, which means the textures look rough at times and the amount of jagged edges (jaggies) on the objects is pretty much ugly. However the character models aren’t so bad and the CG movies are pretty good with precise shadowing effects. The game-play is alright. It plays almost the same as Splinter Cell, except with a few buttons changed here and there (in my opinion they are better in MI:OS). The only thing that I disapprove of is the reverse-type analogue control. In other words, when you are moving forward but then want to move backward, so you pull the analogue stick towards you, but instead of the character turning around, he “back-steps” (like in Max Payne, although it is better when they do that on the PC). However this only happens when you are crouching. The sound is pretty good, although you won’t hear any of the official sound-tracks here. Just some made up stuff, quite good though, except basically every tune is the same. Length-wise, this game isn’t quite as long as Splinter Cell. I’d say it’s about 3 hours shorter. Overall a pretty good experience, but nowhere near as good as Splinter Cell!
