It isn't everything it could be and it's not for everyone ... But is it worth a playthrough? I believe so.

User Rating: 8 | Mirror's Edge PS3
Mirror's Edge is in my opinion, one of the most risk-taking games I've played. Some of the risks were taken with good results in the end, and the others, not so much. But overall, it's a good game, and anyone who's looking for a fresh style of gameplay will like what Mirror's Edge has to offer.

This game is about secret group (which its name I forget; I think it's the 'Runners'). The main character's name is Faith, who is trying to figure out why the police (Blues) are after them, since they never had a problem with the organization before, all the while trying to get her sister, who is a Blue out of trouble, since she was wrongly accused of a crime. I'm not going to go into the story that much since that would take too much time and spoil the story, so I'm just going to get to the point of this review:

Graphics: The way the game looks is incredible to me. There are awesome environments and great character models. There are hand drawn/cartoonish cinematics that I'm not fond of though. But overall, the developers did great there.

Gameplay: Ehh... it's not everything it could be, and the reason why the game is lacking. It's not that the gameplay is bad, it's just that there are few times where the it gets frustrating because there are many times where certain points in the missions are restarted in the game, which happens because of the game not telling you where to go in an efficient way. Then, you're either shot to death, beaten to death, fall to death, or just don't know where to go. This hinders the action, and when you're repeating those points in the mission over and over, it gets stale and feels like a chore to complete an objective. It's basically a trial and error sort of thing, which is no fun. The combat is also a little weird. But, it's a rush when running, climbing, and fighting your way through enemies. There are parts in the game that require you to think, which is good. The manuver mechanics are also great, such as the wallrunning, vaulting, etc. First person view enhances the gameplay as well.

Sound: The sound is really a plus for the game. The effects , such as breathing sounds, punches and kicks are awesome and suck you into the game. Not only that the music really matches the atmosphere. Overall, fantastic.

Overall: This is a great game, just not for those of you who have little patience. But for those who are, and want a fresh style of gameplay, will like Mirror's Edge.
