Not as bad as Gamespot makes it seem...

User Rating: 8.5 | Mirror's Edge X360
Mirror's edge is definitely the most unique FPS out there. And its not really a shooter, like gamespot tries to make it seem. The controls are very interesting, you really only use a few buttons throughout the game...but it works well. The cut scenes visuals are meh, a little weird, but cool. In game, the graphics are incredible, the city looks amazing with the tall buildings and signs and people walking in the streets below. The combat gets to the point, disarm, punch, kick...all basically to get past your enemies...like I said, its not a shootor, its it's own style of first person.

Its very fast paced...you'll be running on top of buildings, risking your life to get past certain points, its really fun. A lot of ninja type stuff, Faith(the girl you play as) even has on the ninja shoes or whatever, so you'll be running on walls, jumping large gaps, stuff like that..but...this leads to my first error, TOO MUCH TRIAL AND ERROR! If your an impatient person, you will want to kill yourself. Some points with enemies are really hard to get pass as well. Its really fun taking down enemies and running through obstacles, but if your stuck on a part for an hour trying to get past one point...yeah, you get my point. But when you get past these points you'll see that its actually a really fun game...

The music is good, not a whole lot I don't think, but when there is music its quite cool. The theme song, "Still Alive", by Lisa Miskovsky is awesome, they play some of it in the beginning, and all of it at the end...but I think anyone can like this song.

The plot is rather interesting, its slow for awhile, basically trying to figure out whats going on...but basically Faith's sister is framed for killing a candidate to be Mayor...whats cool is her sister is a cop. Throughout the whole game Faith and her sister are blamed for killing him...and you find out who it was.

I have to complaints about this game, which are pretty major but can make it up with lots of fun achievements to get and speed runs and such.
1. Trial and Error.
2. WAAAAY to short. When you beat the game, you can do speed runs. The longest level should take about 10 mins, depending on how much you actually practice. You kinda have to memorize the level a bit to remember where to go, but it's REALLY fun. There are only like 10 levels, each one in campaign can take a while, but in speed runs...ridiculously fast.

I love this game personally, little things like the cool theme song actually make me like it a lot...like there is more to it then just running around and beating up the CIA, maybe I'm just a little weird. I didn't give it higher because of the two really annoying errors, I'm actually feeling generous of how high I gave it...but short story isn't such a big deal...trial and error is. Whether or not it gets a 7 on gamespot depends on what you think...This is actually one of my fav games, it doesn't have to be a perfect 10 to be my fav game...

Hope this review helped!! It was my first.
