Finally got one! So cool I carry my games on it play everywhere! I made something similar for my personal use time ago but it was not working in all the machines and was waaaay slower :D :D :D

StormFly is not like the usual? Linux drive people create themselves, which is usually done via LiveCD and does? not have application persistence (where you can loose apps & files on each reboot), those with persistence are usually FAT formatted (not fast and several other drawbacks).

StormFly has full app & file persistence, is fast, boots across 100's of Mac's and PC's out of the box (based on a ton of development), has a chip that is faster and more robust than some of the cheaper devices people are talking about, and comes with backup and encryption. Trust me if anyone really thinks they can develop something with the same specifications and performance for $10-$20, email me at info@nowcomputing.com with the details how and we'll probably offer you a job!

Alternatively you could buy a 16GB thumb drive and do this yourself for about 20% of the cost

I've seen these before but I don't think they were called StormFly.  They should consider putting more than 16gb?  I wonder why they didn't

Or haven't rolled out with it

@Liliroots They clearly plan to cash in by releasing bigger sizes on a regular basis, they could have gone with a much bigger size than 16gb if they had wanted to. Pretty obvious marketing plan seeing as how it has little else to offer except bigger size.

@Liliroots We will be looking at bigger disk sizes early next year!

I actually own one and it's awesome and totally worth the price. It's much more than just a LiveCD on a USB, It's more like a HDD with Ubuntu installed on it (it has persistence) and with enough drivers to be able to run on any computer. If you try to do this yourself you'll encounter a shit load of problems. You can tell their's a lot of work behind it. And besides, part of that price is for a backup service that comes with the device, so if you lose it, you get an identical one back :). StormFly is awesome!!

good idea but, bad price point $25 would be a better price. usb 3.0 flash drives only cost $15 and the OS is free to download
