When compared to the original... It fails. When it try's to do something different... It fails.

Ok, I know I'm going to get a TONNE of flak for this ,but it has to be said: THEY DUMBED IT DOWN SOOOO MUCH. Many of my complaints deal with the fact that any sense of exploration and discovery have been obliterated. First, they do not make worlds with as much space as your storage will allow; This ruins much of the game because, when you don't like your spawn location; on the PC version; you can simply walk to a new locale. Unfortunately, this does not occur on the XBLA version, and limits the exploratory vibe of the game. Another complaint I must raise is that of crafting... WHAT IN THE HECK DID YOU DO! Every crafting recipe is given on start-up which eliminates those"ah ha" moments in the game. Not only that but they have a freakin' TUTORIAL why, may I ask, would one EVER need a tutorial for Minecraft, and what's worse is that its not optional... and will prohibit exploration until its completed. Information on each block is given when your cursor is over it which, again, dumbs it down. The reason I complain about all this is because I feel it insults my intelligence and treats me like I'm a paste chugging, chest slapping retard, and this is nothing new its been happening ever since 2007 when great games like Assassins Creed and Bioshock were released. Its come to the point where Mass Effect 3 states in a giant text box "use the left thumb-stick to move your character."... I think I've made my point. The controls are very, very screwed... its like trying to use a D-Pad for aiming and the button layouts are not customizable. The fact that the hunger system and the enchanting isn't included is a bit sad but not so noticeable with a port this fundamentally broken. The only reason to buy this is if your computer is so slow it can't run 480p video smoothly, and you'll be forking over 20USD for it... which is much too expensive for an inferior port. Not to mention, back when Minecraft was in alpha (when I picked up the game) it was close to 8USD. Beta was around 15USD and the full game is selling for 25USD. Although the PC is more expensive, you can keep the game as long as its on your hard drive, unlike XBLA version where the end user license agreement does not grant ownership it only grants permission which can be revoked at any point. And on a minor note, the modding community... enough said. I think I've thoroughly reviewed this mess of a cash in, and without prolonging this any more i bid all readers a Guten Tag.
