The game is only splitscreen if someone is playing on the same console as you. You can play splitscreen online as long as both accounts are Gold or if one person is logged in as a Guest.

Splitscreen is 2-4 players (assuming you have an HDTV).

For whatever reason you can only do splitscreen if you're playing on an HDTV. I don't know that it necessarily has to deal with widescreen, but that is probable. Also, if playing 2-player splitscreen you can choose from horizontal split or vertical split (just like "Portal 2").

Well you should buy a HDMI cable its audio and video in 1 there is a HDMI port in the back of the Xbox. If you don't have a HD -TV then you cannot connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the television. Altough if you do connect one end to the Xbox and another to the TV after that your set but you must change the channel on the TV to the HDMI port you used. For example if i plug the HDMI in the Xbox then put the other one in HDMI port # 2 on the TV i change the channel to HDMI port # 2 when i am gaming.
