Interacting with a digital child in Project Natal: Milo.
Fake fake fake fake fake faaaake fakedy fake fake faaaaakedy faky fake faky fake fake fake fake fake fake fake fake faaaaaaaaaaaake. Otherwise know as something Peter Molyneux presented.
I'd be pissing Milo off so much if I got this game lol.
I hope they release this...it might make me buy kinect
WoW. That was pretty damn awesome if you ask me. Can't wait to see more of it.
Really excited about Natal. With a bit of imagination this could bring some much needed innovation back to gaming like I felt when I played the likes of Manic Miner, Doom, Civilization, GTAIII or the WII for the first time. Bring it on :-)
it looks awesome but its probably gonna cost a lot of money
Yo, what would happen if instead of a fish, you draw something else? like a pennis or something? Will he recognize it? hahaha cant wait to try hahaha
shes like walking...and the camera "walks" too??? thats sick :O
Truly innovative. Some flaws here and there. Can't wait to see where this is 10 years from now.
This game is a pedophile's dream
still not perfect, ofcourse its the first step towards complete control over the environment, but in this example there just isnt enough inovation. What i want is to be able to control a video game completly. To the point that you can touch the grass and make rinkles in the water.
As amazing as this could be.....I have on question....What would happen if you were to make a pushing motion while Milo was at the dock?
looks impressive, but I do think that this game would be a waste of time. Why would I want to talk to some virtual 8yr old instead of hanging out with my real friends?
Absolutely incredible! I'm just wondering how they did it. How they they got that beautiful @$$ on that small frame. It must've taken months, maybe 9 or 10.
is this true or fake
This is gonna interesting.
hey Daragon91 thanks for spoiling fable 2 for some of us
great idea
why do people whine so much? this is the kind of innovation people ask for and it looks AMAZING, but now that its here people are saying its stupid and dumb or missing something, but its definitely a step in the right direction
that is like one of the craziest things ever. i dont even no how they could make something like that
its nice
@weedman Although you are probably right that Peter Molyneux hasnt got the feintest idea about Phsycology, Im sure that he had Phsycologists help in making Milo, so im sure what he is saying about Emotion is from a respectable source. And as for Fable without the emotion in that game, it would,nt be very good, im sure nearly everyone will agree with me, that they were sad when the dog gets shot in Fable 2 :)
Well, I wouldn't call his games brilliant either. Far from that really. If you are acquainted with old school titles such as Fallout1,2, Baldurs Gate, Planescape: Torment, even NWN1 ( no offense, it was a very good game), you will probably agree that they were way less linear, shallow and featured many more "RPG" elements than both of peter's games combined. Hell lets face the facts here, RPGs today are heavily watered down versions of RPGs that were made a decade ago. Fable is no exception.
im srry but i just cant buy this game. the urge to say stupid things would overwhelm me and that boy would try to virtually cap my ass
amazing...
...umm weedman, Fable was a great game. Fable 2 was great too. Molyneux is talented at what he does, he is seeking to innovate in an industry filled with simple mechanics. Far too few developers are trying to do that. However, I do agree that he completely misses the nail when it comes to emotions half the time. Doesn't make his games bad though.
I just love how Peter Molyneux thinks he understands human psychology even though he is a computer game developer with not even the slightest bit of education in the field of psychology. Yes Peter, I'm sure you understand human emotions even though scientists haven't yet figured it out yet. Fable is good example of how he has very little understanding of what it is that makes games fun.
This is crazy, I never thought the humans would reach this kind of technology.. i just hope this is good as it looks..
Com on guys. why would i want a game where i need to take care of a kid? Why would i want to help him with his homework or draw a fish? Make yourself a real child if you really want to experience the real thing!
...I'm tripping out dude. hahaha
That would be quite an amazing thing if it weren't for one small detail. I doubt gamers would want to have their games turn into interactive media of this sort. Can you imagine how games will be in 20 years or so when this technology will be the basic standard of current generation gaming? I shudder to think what would happen if the borderline between fantasy and reality is destroyed. Besides, interacting with a computer A.I is hardly what I call fun, not to mention this kind of technology will cut down development on these games, making them shorter and more watered down than they are today. I say ban project Natal
a girl talking to a tv wtf!! this is stupid
great
hahah that youtube link is funny as sh1t

I'm sorry, but what person in the right mind would go for this? And why a boy? No person, who a) is not a child, b) has a job and c) would go for something like this without the given impression of being a paedophile.
lol wdf....i dont think its what it seems to be
Great Idea, I love the amazing interaction between Claire and Milo, but I really hope that we won't be forced to, in future games, talk to digital boys about homework and drawing fish.
humm interesting...
old school gaming... yes! natal = piece of junk
looks cool and all but i'd hate to see all video games become like this. i want to kick back with a controller, not use my body as one
looks pretty cool :o
Lionhead is a UK based company, which is why Milo (and the woman) have English accents.
i know a bunch of people think this is fake, and maybe their only showing the best parts of the game and not the flaws, but i think this is pretty cool
We'll see when it has further information.
What Neo Sarevok just did is something that would never happen in any video game... switch topics in mid-thought. Neo may see a relationship between autism and A.I., but a true A.I. would likely not recognize it. Any attempt for it to do so would likely fry its circuits. The intention of video games is to draw people into an alternate world. To expect the opposite to happen, even by developers of advanced A.I. technology, is unrealistic. I believe that Microsoft and its third-party developers already understand this. Perhaps if we looked at this demo video from that perspective, we can understand how this level of interaction is actually possible from this new technology.
Yea it's too scripted. I've watched enough Japanese robot/A.I. documentaries to know this. Listen, we don't even know enough about our OWN brains, let alone how to impose our brains into the minds of an A.I. They can't feel emotion and until we understand what drives our own emotions, we can't expect an A.I. to do the same. We can't even figure out the cause for autism. Figure that out first Mr. Molyneux, then work on this.
is there any option for another character to talk to like a curvy blonde female. I would feel kind of creepy making small talk with a boy for hours.
Milo (working title)
