Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play is a solid collection of hits that is limited by the PSPs inherent hardware capabilities. What I mean by that is that the games are all as much fun (or not) as you remember, and they are emulated more or less faithfully on Sony's handheld, but the glitches that the GS reviewers point out are obvious. These glitches are not dealbreakers, though the long load times in Mortal Kombat 3 are very disappointing. The rest of the games, though tiny on the PSPs LCD screen, are perfectly playable, with the possible exception of Toobin'. For some strange reason, it forces you to rotate the entire PSP 90 degrees, and while the experience is unique, it's a bit of a kludgey way to have to play. I do agree that it is puzzling that more display options were not included; in the console versions, you can scale, zoom, and resize the screen at will, a feature that would be most welcome in a handheld version. All in all, this is a fun compilation that simply showcases that the PSP, though an impressive piece of hardware, is not *quite* a true "portable PS2." Recommended!
