How do you review a collection like this? Especially if you're in my position. Most of the games are older than I am. Sure Arcade Treasures 2 has a great variety of games and most of them are still fun to play today, but how can I say how close to the arcade originals they are? Well, I'll do my best. There are 20 games on this collection. The variety is fighting games to racers. The oldest game on the collection came out in 1981, and the most recent came out in 1997. The most popular games in the collection are probably Mortal Kombat 2 and 3. Not much of a suprise because of how popular they are. But there are alot of other great games. There is another fighter called Primal Rage. There's also the destruct-all classic Rampage World Tour. There's also Gauntlet II, Arch Rivals and a bunch of other games that I've never played before. No matter what kind of games you like, there is something that you'll like here. While most of the games are still fun, there are things that I don't think happened in the arcades. After reading a couple of reviews, the flickery shadows in the MK games were proven not to have happened in the arcades. Also, the controll in some of the games is a little stiffer than I think it should be. The graphics and sound are extremely hard to write about. In some games like MK II, they are both amazing, but in some other games they weren't the best. This was an extremely hard to write. With most games, you can say this game is fun, so it gets a 9 out of 10. With Arcade Treasures 2, you need to average it out over the 20 games. Same thing for the graphics and sound. So even though some of the games aren't quite exact arcade translations, they are still enough fun that they can be played repetedly. You can't really do any better.
