Midnight Club II makes your old NES look like cutting age technology.

User Rating: 3.7 | Midnight Club II PS2
Midnight Club II is so awful, it's pains me to think that it is a sequel to one of the best PS2 racing games of its time. Normally, one would suspect that a sequel to a great game would be improved upon, but this is FAR from the case with MCII. Where to start with this travesty... Gameplay: The gameplay of MCII is very mundane, repetitive, and frustrating. There are no noticable new features in MCII. Yes, there ARE new features, but they are done so horribly and not incorporated enough into the game to be of any use beyond that of bragging rights. Graphics: Don't be fooled by the nice screenshots, the graphics for MCII are literally some of the worst graphics that I have EVER seen on a PS2 game. Everything is of low quality and very, very lazily done. For instane, as you're cruising around Hollywood you'll notice that the Hollywood sign is way too big. Upon further inspection, you'll notice that the Hollywood sign isn't even connected to the hill. It just hovers near the hill! There is no excuse for Rockstar's laziness on this game. Sound: The sound of MCII is the only semi-decent thing about it. Most of the songs are pure crap, but there are several very good techno songs. Unfortuantly, you have to unlock these songs. Overall, the game just isn't any good. It's not worth buying at all. Even with me being a big Rockstar fan, driving fan, and fan of the original Midnight Club, I must confess that this game is pure rubbish. It is the worst game in my collection, and I feel very stupid for having wasted thirty hard earned dollars on this horrible piece of crap. Avoid this game at all costs. Don't even waste five dollars on it. It's not worth a buy, rent, or even your time.
