It's just so sad. You see, I really want to like this game. I really do. Everything about it is to love: gorgeous nightime city atmosphere, a real sense of speed and easy (if maybe a tad too loose), fluid control. So what's keeping me from being able to wholeheartedly endorse Midnight Club 2? The fact that you will frustratingly be smacking into walls, trucks and other cars at just the wrong times...all the time!! You can have a city course completely memorized, but it doesn't matter, because "things" will just keep getting in your way which takes skill away from winning and puts luck in its place. In order to win you'll need luck. Now, mind you, I'm only writing about the career mode, I haven't tried this game online yet. I was hoping to get through the career mode first, but I've become increasingly frustrated. And in my own defense, I'm a pretty patient gamer and almost always play through a game (even Gunvalkyrie). It's a real shame because there is a gorgeous atmosphere to this game. Oh well.
