A great game for any old schooler who owns a NES......and great for just anyone.

User Rating: 8.7 | Metroid NES
This is the first ever Metroid game to be made. Although it may not have the best graphics and it is for NES, it is still a great game. You could probably be able to ask any old school game player and they would say this is a great game. Gameplay: In Metroid there are a lot of little details that make the game so great. The first thing in the game are all of the different paths that you are able to take. In the game there are more than four corridors that when you either go up or down there are many choices of doors that you have to choose from. then once you go into the doors that journey does not always end at the end of the corridor in that door. In most of them there is always some way to continue on to another room or even corridor. So the paths that you are able to take are very well laid out. Then the next thing are the power ups. In the game you do not go the whole game with just the same things you started out with. throughout the game, depending on how powered up you are already you will get upgrades throughout the game until you reach the final boss. There a health, weapon, and of course armor power ups like any game would have. Then the next thing are you regular opponents. When you fist start off the game you run into little spiked creatures that climb walls and walk around where ever they want to. Then there are the diving creatures which hang from the ceiling to try to dive onto you. Then there are also other creatures that come out of like tubes in thru ground and fly in a straight line at you. Then finally there are multiple types of creatures that just fly around trying to attack you. now also in case you do not know what a Metroid is, they are like flying Jellyfish, but they suck your life. But do not worry about them for you do not meet them till the very end. Then there are a total of three bosses you must defeat. The first two are very simple once you get the hang of how to kill them. Then the last boss is almost like a giant brain thing and it is pretty tough, but other than that all bosses are not that hard. The last thing would be the over all story line. The story itself may have lacked telling you what is really going on, but other than that, the way that they set up the whole game, they did a really good job with that. So the overall story line was really good. Graphics: Since this is a NES game the graphics are truly not all that great but do deserve a good score for that time, and any old school gamer would like them. So the overall graphics may not have been that great, but they do deserve credit for back in their own time. When you do go through the game you will find that there are graphic glitches, but other than that the graphics are fair. Sound: The sound in the game is not all that great for there are not really different sounds for tings dying and shooting your gun. Basically shooting everything and everything dying sounds the exact same. The only really good thing in the game with the sound would have to be the music. In the game there is not just one type of music. When you enter a new corridor sometimes you will hear new music for the different type of place you are in. So the sound may not be great but is it good. Value: The value of this game is perfect if you like all of the following. Do you like hours of fun? Do you like hours on hours of gameplay? Do you like a good story line? And finally do you like all of these put together and more? If you answered yes to all of those questions than this is a game that has great value and worth buying. So the value of this game is great. Reviewer's Tilt: I loved this game so much. I have played this game non stop ever since I got, well maybe not non stop, but a lot off and on since I got it. It is a great game and truly does have everything a game needs. So in my own opinion I think that everyone should get this game because it is so great. Also since it is on NES it is really cheap and you do not have to pay much at all. This is probably also my favorite Metroid game out of all of them. So I think that everyone should get this game. It is awesome!
