Good: - A stunning graphical presentation - The sounds and background music are excellent - The atmosphere is awesome - New and refreshing ideas - This list could go on forever! Bad: - The control system is quite hard to get used to - You have to re-play quite a lot of the worlds over and over again, which can get a bit tedious, but it is also cool because you can go through them again and never get bored GAMEPLAY: As GameSpot mentioned in their review, this is probably the most atmospheric video game I have ever played. All the creatures and monsters in the game are fantastic, and the boss fights are awesome. The control system is very good (although it does take a while to get used to at first), and the numerous amount of weapon upgrades and power-ups in the game will keep you occupied for a long, long time. 09/10 GRAPHICS: To keep it short, the graphical presentation in Metroid Prime is one of the finest I have ever seen. Every object and texture (and everything else) in the game are outstanding - from the tiny drips of water that will appear on your visor after you leave the water, to the incredibly detailed fire and lava flames in the cavern places. Absolutely superb 10/10 SOUND: Like I said before about the atmosphere in Metroid Prime, the sound-track is also really atmospheric. In every different main places in the game, they all have different background music - and every single one of them is brilliant. The music really helps to add atmosphere to the game, and I don't think anyone can complain about that. It would be really great if the sound-track was released in stores - maybe one day they will. 10/10 VALUE: The value in the game is also superb. It will probably take you, on average, about 40 hours to complete the whole game because it just goes on forever. Although there are many different places to explore in the game, you may suddenly want to take a break and come back to it later. Still, lots of lots of stuff to do though. 09/10 OVERALL: In my opinion, this game could be enjoyed by absolutely anybody in possession of a Nintendo GameCube. It has a brilliant soundtrack, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Metroid Prime is a masterpiece, and without a doubt, it is the best game you can buy for the console. One of my all-time favourites. 9.9 out of 10
