Although it feels different then a classic Metroid game, any Metroid fan or DS player will definently be satisfied!

User Rating: 9 | Metroid Prime: Hunters DS
Metroid Prime Hunters is a First Person Shooter/ Sci-Fi game for the Nintendo DS. It is rare First Person Shooters are ever realeased for the DS, and even more rare that they are this good.

The game centers around Samus Aran once again, who has recieved word of a so called ultimate power. She finds the source of this ultimate power from these 8 distinct Octoliths artifacts, and must hunt down each one to its source. Finding them is the easy part. The hard part...

...you are not alone.

Six other incredibly powerful bounty hunters want these octoliths for their own greedy needs, and you will find them running around all over the place waiting for you to arrive. Throughout the game you must duel with them to prevent them from going further.

The graphics for the DS are all-star, probably the best the DS has to offer. Although there are times where the resolution can be fuzzy, but hey, it's the DS, can't be perfect.

The controls can be tricky at first, as you aim by pointing and moving the stylus on the topuch screen to zoom to where you want to shoot at. The stylus is also used to switch between Missiles and the other weapons, scan, and go into Morph Ball.

The problem with this game is that it doesn't feel like a classic Metroid game in the end, of course, not to say it lacks the qualities of one. You still have to find upgrades to your weapons, health and ammo, and of course there is the usual Metroid philosophy of backtracking, where you go back to where you were earlier and trek further once you get the right weapon.

For Metroid, the boss battles were a little cheap. Really, more could have been done to that.

One of the games best feature is its Multiplayer mode. Simply put, it is likely the best Multiplayer the DS has to offer. You can choose to player againest friends would have or don't have a copy of the game, with opponents from around the world with wi-fi, or even bots, or computer opponents.

You can even pick from 7 bounty hunters that offer great weapons, and more than 15 beautiful battling arenas. You can't go wrong here.

The game has a slightly short, but very intense storymode, and a great multiplayer mode that will surely catch your eye!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the scoring portion!

Graphics: 9/10: Awsome for the DS, just a little off resolution as all.

Plot: 10/10: Full of secrets and turns, Metroid games always offer a detailed and immersive plot.

Characters: 9/10: With the addition of 6 other bounty hunters that, lets face it, are awsome, one will love playing as each. However they share a lot of dynamics of Samus.

Gameplay: 7/10: It just doesn't really feel like a true Metroid game. The controls were also hard, but fun most of the time.

Difficulty: 7/10: Just a little too easy at times.

Final Score: 42/50 = 9/10 = SA- WEET!

Remember, it is hunt, or be hunted.
