A thinking man's Megaman.

God, you suck. You're terrible. You curse the genes your parents passed onto you. Your reaction time is that of an infant's and your ability to think fast is more of an ability to think slow. You suck at life. You suck at everything.
But that f-cking spiderboss is going down if it takes you all night.

I'm a fairly new player to the Metroid world. My first game was the Gamecube's Prime... I just didn't get the series until I played that game. I guess I was too young to truly enjoy Super Metroid. I saw that I could roll up into a ball... and that was pretty cool... but I just didn't get it. I couldn't even beat the first boss.

I played through a majority of Metroid Prime (still stuck though, of course), and decided to try out an original 2D one. Portability played a role in my buying of this game and for the longest time, I couldn't get into it. Eventually I finally gave it a real chance, and once I'd beaten atleast three bosses, I'd realized how addictive this game truly was. It's just one of "those" games, you know? It irritates the hell out of you, but the prospect of getting through to the next area and recieving the next snippet of plot is completely worth it.

Unlike many other games, it doesn't matter what kind of power ups you have, you are going to die on bosses over and over until you figure out a technique. I found half the time I'd get through the boss to simply be demolished by the X's shell. This game isn't something you can read about "doing" through some faq. The thing is, if you are willing to stick with this game and give it everything you've got, it's a very worthwhile
endeavor.

I'm gonna go and buy Super Metroid now.
