After playing through the first one several times I can say this is a worthy successor that shines out over the last one. A very gritty and many times emotional ride through the horrors of survival as seen through the eyes of a survivor. The depth of the interaction with characters, over hearing conversations, the claustrophobia of crawling through dungeons and the constant feeling of unease as you traverse the world...is amazing. Many times you stop just to look at the ghostly beauty of a world torn apart. An amazing experience. Not for the feint of heart, though. A great deal of the story involves parallels to the history, such as World War II Nazi cultural cleansing. There are many scenes that your eyes are drawn to that upon further reflection are deeply unsettling. Just simply the sheer volume of human bodies and decay is unnerving.
Overall, very well done. I look and hope to see more from them in the future.
Highly recommend.
