Everything you need to know

User Rating: 8 | Metro: Last Light X360
The developers of metro really annoy me, because it seems that for everything they get right, there's something they've done to even it out with a wrong. Metros selling point, it's reason to play, is the immersion. Your stuck in this world, this metro, fearing for your life. Either from factions such as the Nazis, mutated beasts, and well, strange supernatural occurances. Where this game thrives is when you are on your own, walking through the metro tunnels, with your headtorch for light. Your on edge constantly, jumping at every sudden sound or movement. It actually scares you, there are no, or few cheap jump scares, it's just unsettling and makes you feel, strange. I feel like I've lived in this game. No, or not many other games plunge you into the world, quite like metro does. So, why only an 8? It's like, if you were on a date with a beautiful girl, you loved her the moment you saw her, but every single thing she did from that point put you off. You still take her home your just not as happy as you were at first. I digress the story Is so so, the characters are too. It doesn't make you care for the characters, your just in awe of the world around you, your too busy trying to survive and take in the beautiful, terrible world, you have no time for characters and plot. And well, it's a good thing you have no time for the characters and plot because it's so bland. The dialogue between main characters, as in story characters, is so bland and uninspired. It's like a 13 year old wrote it for their English homework. The main characters you come into contact are just, they just leave something to be desired. The plot is basically go here, meet that person, something goes wrong, your on your own, you find more people. Repeat that three times and that's roughly the layout of the whole story. There is only 1 character of interest you meet and that's pavlov, it's like everybody focused on him in the development, and left a few hours for everyone else. As he was a great character. The world is amazing, beautiful yet horrible. The graphics are surprisingly good, I've never felt so touched by a game. And yet the story was so lackluster, the characters so boring that I didn't care for their problems, I cared for my problems, survival.
