So I noticed that GS gave Metro 2033 a review of 7.5 which means good, the game was already in my possession before reading this. I've concluded that 7.5=good, this is not a good game, this is a fantastic game! I just recently finished the game and it took me about 13 hours or so. This game is such a refreshment to a huge fps fan like me. There's so many strong points that makes this game stand out, one thing is the weapons in this game and they are just plain awesome, you will soon be falling in love with your favorite. There are different types of weapons, there are the military grade weapons, that are the most powerful, but must be conserved and cost more, ak74u for example. There's also these special home made weapons that are weak, but are really fun too lose and are just cool like the air pumped helsin. Another good strong point in this game is the mood and setting. The atmosphere is creepy and tense, you really feel the mood. There was several times throughout the game that I jumped, its the scariest game I've played. You'll come across everything from ghosts to 'dark ones' to enemy humans. The story of the game isn't anything too special, but its better than 90% of the other fps games on the market today. The graphics of this game are some of the best I've seen on my xbox 360, the world is incredibly detailed and the little details everywhere make this world feel living. This is where you see the lite-rpg elements such as looting what you kill for ammo or weapons, or picking useful things up you see on the ground. Or looking at your watch to see how much time you have left above ground, or the cracks in your gasmask. Many reviewers have complained about the gunplay of the game. It's no call of duty but I don't see it as something to complain about, that's just reviewers nitpicking. And please, please don't let the lack of multiplayer or co-op turn you down. This is finally a true single player fps-horror experience on the 360. If you like games like bioshock, half life, silent hill, deadly premonition, then this is a must buy for you. And if your tired of playing mw2 or battlefield bad company 2, take a break, give this game a chance, you won't regret it.
EDIT: Huge second opinions on this game, little replay value really hurts it, there is literally nothing to do after you beat the game,
A rundown:
Graphics: 10
Gameplay: 8.5
Story/atmosphere: 9.5
Replay value: 5
Overall 8.5
