Metal Gear Solid, the third game in the series was released after Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake back in 1990. Then after about a seven year wait Hideo Kojima brings us Metal Gear Solid. One of the most revolutionary games of the 90's and a classic at it's best. You play as agent Solid Snake trying to prevent a nuclar strike by a renegade group called FOXHOUND, who has taken over a nuclear weapons disposal site. The storyline takes many twists and turns from the moment you start, and the moment is will end. MGS can show so much emotion in its story that you simpley must see it to its very end to find out just what happens and where it goes. The game however has a very strong message that i think is important to know about. By the time you finished it, it'll just make you think twice how about our world of ours will be a much better place off without nuclear weapons. But ill just leave it at that...

In terms of game play, MGS is a stealth action game. So if you are one of the very many people who cant sit still for 5 seconds and want to run and gun like Rambo then MGS is clearly not for you. But if you have the time and patience then you can look at this game as quite rewarding in a sense and you might just get something out of it rather it will be the game itself or the story. Hey, it might even be both! The basic premise of the game is to sneak through an area to your objective without being caught, so that stealth plays a very vital role. Sure you have your basic weapons and equipment that can save you most of the time. Such as a silenced SOCOM, FAMOUS assault rifle, C4 explosive, Stinger missle launcher, etc.

The graphics are very good when compared to other PS1 games. When you look around you can really feel like your in that 3D looking envierment. And the level desinge is also good too for this stealth action game. As for the music, i can say that it sets the right tone and makes the sneaking part really feel like your on your toes.


So overal if your into the stealth action genere or if you think you might like a stealth action game like Metal Gear Solid thn go for it!
