It's awesome because it has the best series all together.

User Rating: 10 | Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection PS2
In case you don't know MGS is a stealth series whose main character is Solid Snake, a 30 yr. old trained in stealth, combat, and use of firearms.
I had barely played any MGS game before but once I noticed how high they were rated and how much they were loved so I bought the MGS:EC. Out of the three games I can't pick which I like best. MGS1 has its ups, 1st in the series, old schooly and its downs, bad graphics compared to modern games, no FPV shooting. MGS2: the game of misfortune. As an MGS fan you shouldn't hate Raiden even though he's a dumba$$. Raiden is supposed to question things and be uninformed like Snake in MGS1. If you don't like Raiden play the first game and then watch the awesome MGS4 Raiden vs. Gekkos cut scene. Though I do see the point of not getting to play as Snake for that long you should get Substance and play Snake's missions and Snake tales. For MGS3 Kojima was smart to slightly alter Solid Snake's character and looks to be Big Boss. MGS3 adds camo index, face paint and camo, to help you hide in a jungle in stead of buildings. One down side is not being able to easily hide for guards inside, but this disadvantage brings back the old cardboard box. The cardboard box have been around since the first game Metal Gear on the MSX and NES. All in all if you like MGS4 but don't have the others or you want to play these games you should buy it, it's only $30 new.
