how do i beat him i was about to beat him on first try but i lose track of him and his stanima regained which pissed me off to the left if anyone knows a pattern or easy way to beat him please help me

At the beginning of the battle, throw a pile of poisoned food on the ground. When he gets hungry, he will keep eating it until his stamina is gone. Attack him then.
Also about finding him, I think there is a bird circling over his location but I can't remember. Played the game years ago and haven't got that far yet in the collection

I've only ever fought him on Normal difficulty so experiences may vary but here is the strategy I've used everytime:
There is a specific tree you should climb. The side that is climbable is close to a "wall" so you have to get between the "wall" and tree to actually climb it.
Once up top equip the thermal goggles (hopefully you didn't miss them when you met Eva)
Stay in FPV by holding R
if you are going for non-lethal obviously I recommend the tranq gun, if not the weapon is up to you. On subsequent playthroughs I use the Patriot.
From this tree there is only 2 spots he stops where you can't see him. And only one of those I have ever been hit from.
It's fairly easy to keep track of em from this location with the thermal goggles. Also hopefully you have 2 batteries, as 1 might not cut it.

There's also a little glitch that may or may not work on this version, toss a Stun Grenade at him and tear him up with the AK.

Poisoned food... you are a genius. Got him down in less than 2 minutes with the tranq gun this way just now.

The easiest way, which is a glitch but works in every version I have tried, including the 3DS...
When the battle starts, cure yourself, take a death pill, wait for the Fear to walk up to you, then turn his back, revive yourself, throw a stun grenade at him, look away, arm a machine gun (in later runs, use the Patriot), then open up on him.
Not only will it kill him in seconds, it will only drain his stamina so you can get his camo.
