Reviewing a game such as Metal Gear Solid 4 is a task that no man deserves to fulfill. Such duty should be done by a divine presence, something greater than man. Asking some one on the internet to share their opinion on MGS4 is like commissioning a blind man to voice his opinion on a beautiful oil painting painted by a true artist such as Picasso. It simply cannot be done. MGS4 is to Hideo Kojima as The Scream is Munch, or Titanic is to James Cameron.

When talking about MGS4, to quote Kevin VanOrd; "It's hard not to sound hyperbolic" But thats inevitable as you soon begin to realize the production values and quality put into to this title, and as our Gamespot reviewer said this game is technically "The most stunning video game ever made"

The story begins in the middle east on a torn battlefield. War has changed.
Snake has disguised himself as militia and you will notice that he has aged. Thanks to accelerated aging Snake does not have much time left to live, and has dedicated the last months of his life to hunt down his arch nemesis: Liquid Snake and Ocelot.

Not much more I can say about the story other than that you see different locations with variety, the latter half of the acts all look gorgeous compared to the first to acts which by todays standards are a little bland. You will even visited locations that you may remember from years back.

Graphically, this game was top of the line when it came out and was accepted worldwide (web) as the graphics kings on console. It even won the graphics award for Best Graphics Technology. That being said, the character models are still among the best and the faces looking stunning. interior environments are breathtaking and some exteriors do look good. The lighting is nothing special and the shadows do look horrible, but the great explosions, bodies, animations, Anti-Aliasing and framerate make up for these blemishes.

The Controls have been redefined. Compared to previous Metal Gear games Metal Gear Solid 4 has perfect controls you can now aim your gun or rifle while walking and you get an over the shoulder third person view and have complete control over the camera. This makes the stealth mechanics all the more enjoyable the overall gameplay a much better experience than what was already a phenomenal experience in the prequels. This also makes shooting comfortable and gives you an option to play the game how you want too -- if you like stealth, you play like Sam Fisher himself, if you like action you may feel like Rambo --- If thats your thing.


Metal Gear Solid 4 is the epitome of cinematic exuberance in a flawless audiovisual design and a pinnacle in storytelling with its medium prowess.

This game is also the only game to score a perfect score on all five of the major reviewers which hold the most influence in gaming journalism (IGN, Gamespot, Famitsu, GamePro and GameInformer)

IGN reviewer Jeff Haynes even said: Metal Gear Solid 4 is that game that deserves the merit of an 11/10"

And I cannot agree more, from professional reviewers to the loyal fanbase. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a perfect 10 and the best game ever made.
