best ps3 game ....yet
the previous metal gears solid games have had a sky view of yourself but this time around you can move your camera which highlights the gorgeous graphics. aiming has been improved so that you can aim from an over the shoulder or first person view. this comes in handy in various forms. imagine that you are on a tower and its dark.
using the night vision from the incredibly useful solid eye you can then equip your sniper rifle and take care of the enemy. then imagine a pmc (private military corporation) trooper discovers you, you could take him down with a that same sniper rifle in third person.
the gadget controls are smooth and polished. you can use a scout robot called the mk. 2 to to scout the area ahead and take out enemy soldiers with ease.
if your used to fast paced first person shooters, you might become frustrated with the slow aiming reticule and solid snakes slow jog. it would have also been nice to have more gadgets.
the graphics are obviously incredible but the only problem i have with them is the shading. sometimes you walk past a sunlit window and your shadow wont appear. overall the graphics overshadow this problem.
the sound effects in this game were also top notch. gamers who have played the previous games will recognize old voices and and references. while new players will become confused (maybe). the voice acting is movie quality with great performances especially with david hayters gruff voice.
the story is expectantly grand with many twists and turns. it has many characters of the older games and some new like drebin #893. the story will most likely make you feel the feelings of old snake. people with less patience will skip many cutscenes and wont feel as involved with the story taking place.
ten does not mean perfect, it means great at what it did. metal gear solid 4 will stay with me for a very long time.
