User Rating: 10 | Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Platinum) PS3
Metal Gear Solid 4 did well with reviews and PS3 fans went crazy when it was first released. Now, there has been tons of cases where you play a game that's been reviewed and hyped like the second coming of Christ, and you end up disappointed and wanting your money and time back. Metal Gear Solid Four is not one of those games. The game's incredible story and gameplay and thoroughness will leave you with your jaw hanging and begging for more. Metal Gear Solid 4 features an Old Snake caught in the middle of the battlefield in a war between PMCs vs Militia soldiers and you can either choose to pick a side or you can ignore both sides and press on with the game. Metal Gear Solid allows you to conduct both stealth and all-out gameplay successfully. It doesn't sacrifice anything for anything. This game is so packed that you'd begin to wonder how they got it all to fit in one disk. You play through with the assistance of familiar friends from the MGS series. Friends such as Otacon, Raiden, Naomi and Meryl. Boss battles are huge and can get frustrating, but extremely balanced and are neither too difficult nor too easy.
Character animations are fluid and the artificial intelligence plays well into the game. The game is awesome.
Never in years would I have thought a video game would make me cry, but I found myself in tears toward the end of the game. No spoilers here, but the story line is moving and motivating and you'll find yourself caring about these characters. People who haven't played any Metal Gear Solid Game before needn't worry. Metal Gear Solid 4 was my first MGS game and I didn't have any problems catching on and keeping up with the story. The cinematics are impressive and fun to watch and they do drive the story. Metal Gear Solid Four does not have a single moment in which you'll find yourself bored or being left hanging. This game deserves it's Gamespot rating, a 10 out 10.
