MGS 3 Subsistence is the special edition of an already brilliant game, if you own a PS2 then you must play this game.
MGS 3 Subsistence is an expansion pack from MGS 3 Snake Eater which was released in late 2004. The game has the single player mode and the monkey mode which was found in the 2004 version, but this edition of the game has some sweet new features. In the single player mode, you could get facepaints and costumes that helped blend you into the environemnt. The developers have added some funky new facepaints and costumes to the game, an example is that you can have the Japenese face painted onto your face and other crazy ideas like that. Also, in all of the other MGS games, you had a boring over the head view which wa getting a little bit old. But in this game you can't switch between that over the head view to a behind the back view like in the Splinter Cell games. This is a nice addition to the game and will get gamers into the game when they're in firefights. The biggest and best addition to this special editon is the online play, there are 4 different groups to choose from: Snake's group (my favorite group), EVA's group, Ocelot's group, and Raikov;s group (aka Raiden's group). The player that is ranked highest on the group gets to play as the leader, so if I was ranked highest I would get to play as Snake if I was on Snake's group. These leaders each have special abilites, if you're playing as Ocelot you'll be able to shoot bullets off walls. One of the best things about online though (in my opinion) is the fact that you can use the classic MGS box trick. The box trick works a lot better in multiplayer mode than it does in the single player mode, if you hide in a room full of boxes the other player might not notice it. If you wanted to you could just shoot all the boxes, but you'll most likely be wasting bullets. So the box trick works a lot better in online multiplayer than it does in the single player mode. MGS 3 Subsistence is a masterpiece of a game and will make MGS fans very pleased with the incredible online play and all the other cool extra additions to the game. The game has a very cool single player mode, and a very unique multiplayer mode, these can't be ignored.
