MGS2 has alot of twists and turns you just want to keep playing.
Story
As Solid Snake you are said to gather imformation on a new type of Metal Gear Ray and get pictures of it to give you the advantage. After a brief encounter with an old enemy Snake is prosumed dead this is where the game gets intresting. You now take the role of Raiden who is sent on a mission to rescue the President and destroy the remaining Metal Gears. Along the way you will meet a guy called Priskin who shall later reveal his true identity to you.
Gameplay
The game basically has the same basic gameplay as the first game but with a few new mechanics in there. You can hold your opponent at gunpointmeaning they will freeze, the enemny will look alot harder than in the first game. You shall gain new moves like a roll and being able to hang off of ledges to sneak past enemies and to get to new platforms.
Along the way in the game you shall come across new allies via Codec and they will offer valueable imformation on things like how to hurt bosses and also your next objective. Youget all sorts of awesome weapons like Grenade Launchers,Missle Launchers,Machine Guns,Rifles and so on. As well as useful items like Goggles, Body Armour,Cardboard Boxes and Pentazim that steadies Rifle fire.
The bosses in the game there are a couple that are intrest but some do dissapoint because you get facts on how to dodge and atttack them. Also on certain difficult levels you might have more than one enemy then you'd expect if you were playing on a lower setting.
Presentation
For a game that was released in the early era of the PS2 era the game has some outstanding visuals. LIke the water effects are very nice and so is the in game background. The cut scenes can seem to go on forever but it does fill you in on certain questions marks you might have hard in the run up to this game. Also some look incredible to watch first time through.
Lastability
The game is about 10 to 12 hours long but some cut scenes being skipped could probably knock a couple of hours of that. You have also got the certain difficulties as well.
Overall Opinion
An incredible and engaging story that fills some of the questions from the previous game and adds more characters to the story. While Snake takes a bit of a backseat he does play a part in the story and laying as Raiden mostly doesn't seem to much like a problem since the gameplay is virtually identical. If you have not played Metal Gear Solid 2 then I suggest you do an excellent story and some intresting insight into certain characters.
