The Game Ninja Gaiden 3 SHOULD have been.

User Rating: 8 | Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PS3

But there is hope For a sigma title… Anyway, In this MG title you play as Raiden. Unlike in MGS 2, you don't have to see him do cartwheel flips naked. Some people might be upset because is isn't the same MG you grew up with. Fear not. It does the series justice while, blazing its own trail. MGR reminds me of that Megadeth song, Peace Sells but, who's buying.

Peace is a good thing but warmongers and mercenaries can't make money in times of peace. So what do they do? They kill the prime minister that has mended a war torn area in Africa. Now Raiden is out for revenge but as usual in MGS games, the plot thickens the deeper you go. The story is lacking more character development but, most people came for the action.

If they decide to do another installment, they should work on that. The audio bits in the codec fills you in a little, offering some funny tidbits from time to time. That will keep most people happy. Filled with melodramatic characters, both good and bad. The game play reminds me of what Ninja Gaiden once played like. but to be fair, MGR is a easier.

The Blade mode Raiden has, is a big part in the games difficulty. Being able to slice foes into pieces and taking health in the form of spines makes it easier to overcome most levels. Speaking about the levels, they aren't that impressive. But considering that the game is only 5 or 6 hours long with the main focus on combat, that is understandable. I said that the levels are easier to overcome but, you will still have to put in some effort. The enemies aren't push overs. They have this knack of mobbing you giving you little chance to react. Thus, forcing you to plan your moves beforehand.

You have a target lock feature but, combined with camera getting in the way because of the small areas and, the amount of enemies you battle at one time in various sizes, the auto lock is futile. The Boss battles require some planning as well so, This isn't a walk in the park button masher. I suggest ramping up the difficulty if, you want more of a challenge.

I only wish that the new weapons you got could be changed out in mid combo. Learn to parry. That is the best advice I can give you. About the blade mode? Yeah, it's fun! and makes you a feel like a bad ass! I hated that you couldn't cut EVERYTHING… But, I understand why.

Most players would slice the entire level thus, breaking the game! The quick time events take the control from you for a moment but, it does look cool to see the cinematic that comes with it. over all, I will agree with most critics out there that say this is one of the best action games of this year. I'm glad the Kojima decided to team up with platinum games otherwise, this creation wouldn't have happened.
