Elitisim is so stupid.... If they were trying to appeal to only you then this wouldn't be a Metal Gear game because Kojima and Konami know that they have a much broader audiance then that. It'd be named something else that wouldn't sell worth squat because people won't bother with a game that is automatically extreme in difficulty.
All they did is try to appeal to everyone they could, casuals by making easier difficulties, fans by using the metal gear name and keeping the game at a challenge level that people could actually finish it, trophy hunters by making it challenging but not beyond unfair, and elitists by making uber hard diffculties where if you want you can do your own challenge runs without making everyone else suffer because of it. If you don't like it well thats the way this game was made.
Besides, even with items like the wig its still going to be extremely hard, if you're such masocists and want it harder then just don't use them. As simple as that. No reason people who don't want to spend years trying to master everything in ONE game for one trophy when half you elitist don't even care about stuff like trophies and only want to act like being the best at ONE game makes you all better then everyone at life.
Go cry to Platinum so that their next game doesn't sell or turns into an elitist parade when they appeal only to you. Not every game has to be Ninja Gaiden Sigma or old school NES hard, and if you all think it does then you don't have a grasp on what gaming these days really means to devs. Most people aren't going to throw away $60 or more on a game if they won't get what they want out of it. When a company appeals to a greater audiance then they'll sell more copies and make more money, thus fund more games.
I think this post pretty much personifies the response of your typical angry internet tough guy. Calling me an elitist on the subject and bringing up other games when this will be my first modern action title, rofl. I was merely making a point that it is perfectly sensible for the hardest challenges of the game to require an elite level of play, eliminating easy-to-use crutches. Besides, I can counter your point with the same logic that you're trying to counter mine with; not every game needs to be as easy as Sonic the Hedgehog, and if you think it does then you don't have a grasp on what gaming these days means to devs. See?
My whole point was that it's up to devs to determine a game's difficulty. It's not their responsibility to cater to the fans that don't want to work very hard to get the platinum trophy. Some gaming companies take pride in the fact that their games are hard to complete. It's not up to them whether or not the community feels like completing them. It sounds like all of the Ninja Gaiden games are tough to get platinum trophies for and it doesn't seem like many people complain about that.
