Finally COD4 got a competitor. This is just sooo Great!
Metal Gear Online is exaclty what the online gaming scene needed. Since it's release COD4 have been ruling the online gaming and haven't had any real battle with other games. Well, you can't just compare the two games with each other. A first-person game and a third-person. I still love COD4 very much but the scene needs more top class products, and not only just one ruling it.
I really love MGO. The gameplay is great and the ranking system is brilliant. And not to mention the character customization, it is far better then any other game. You can choose how your soldier would look like, choose from a couple of different voices and also peek his voice level. Then you have a couple of attributes that you can put on your character, so you can give your guy a unique style. You can set four attributes per character and choose from things like, good on cqc, better aim, run faster, or even if you shoot one, he will be shown on your map, even for the others in your team.
The only thing that isn't that good with MGO is that it takes a long time before you can start a game. That's not what I want when I want to play, I don't wanna sit and wait a couple of minutes before I get in. That is really frustrating.
But when you're in, it is just great. In one of the games you can play as Snake and your mission is to steal dog tags from the others, and if you're enough players one gets to control the Mk.II to help Snake. This is so awesome. I was a little sceptic at first when playing the Beta a couple of weeks back but now after playing through the singleplayer a couple of times it's better. Way better.
If the connection system and matchmaking had been better and faster this would definately get a 10.
