"War, children, its just a shot away" - Gimme Shelter; The Rolling Stones

User Rating: 10 | Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake MSX
Big Boss... The traitor is dead. Earth lives in peace, all nuclear weapons have been disposed of with the end of the Cold War. But somewhere in the Orient lies Zanzibar Land, and somehow the army of such country has managed to invade and take hold of all nuclear weapons still working. Now they are the strongest country in the world, and can force anyone to do anything they want. Or so they think... The Fox Hound unit still exists, lead by a Colonel Roy Campbell, and again Solid Snake is sent to stop the nuclear threat. Another infiltration, another plot, the begining of a new horror. As the mission goes on various links to the Outer Heaven incident start to show up: children inside the base whom talk of a one-eyed man who saved them from the fires of Outer Heaven, the leader of the resistance that was saved by Snake in the first game is back, as a villanous ninja. Finaly Grey Fox is also back with a single mission: stop Snake at all costs. The horror is back, Metal Gear is back, this time it's fully functional and a low class Metal Gear is also in project to be used as a new kind of army... To make matters worse, Big Boss reveals himself alive and seeking revenge. It's a new battle against an old enemy. New secrets shall be revelead. Many people will prove to be weak and give away to Big Boss' ideals.
Graphics are surprisingly good if you compare with the first Metal Gear and the short space between the release of it and the second games. The sound is still kind of horrible in terms of sound per se. But the musics are ok. Gameplay is basic so there's nothing to talk about. The story improves a lot from what the first game brought, it's much more deeper and elaborated making the game worth every single second you spend playing it. This game also shows the face of many characters, and I muist say the drawings are pretty well done, giving a special touch to the game's fashion.
This time the battle is personal!
