Metal Gear was a success in Japan and USA but in Europe it flopped but Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake got a even more succes then MG1 and here´s a little info about the game. The story is simple terrorists have taken over a place that they called Zanzibar Land and they got a new Metal Gear called Metal Gear D(the name sucks but hey it´s still named Metal Gear)Solid Snake is sent in to eliminate the terrorists and destroy Metal Gear D the game starts very quick after a brief from Roy Campbell(your corneal in MGS1 and MGS2) he gives you a brief about the soluton radar system then the game starts. The gameplay is like MG with a few changes(aside for the radar)now you can crawl into a vent under a truck and some boxes so you can avoid been spotted by the soldier´s also when you are spotted you don´t need to kill the soldier´s now you can find a place to hide and wait for the soldier´s to give up it dosént take long before they give up. There´s more story then in MG1 where there wasént much story each time you meet or defeat a boss they give you some info or talk about they life(which are weird)and you´ll meet characters from MG1 like(spoilers don´t read this if you don´t want to know)Big Boss Gray Fox and more(read now). The story is not confusing(like MGS2)and you´ll understand it right away. Also if you played MGS1 you´ll think some of the thing the happened in MGS1 is also happening for me now cause like in MGS1 you are running up a stairs while the soldiers are after you in one part your fighting a chopper in one part(but that also happens in MGS2)and your fighting in a elevator against 4 soldier´s(really it´s a boss fight here instad in MGS1 where it was soldiers). The game only got released in Japan because the MSX was dead in Europe when MG2SS got released in Japan. Thanks to the Internet everyone can download it in English but there´s a draw back in that version you don´t know if it´s translated as good as Konami translate games but you should stick to it you can download it here: www.mgconfidential.com/MG2/ here you can download it.
