A shooter with a sense of humor, who would have thunk it.

As I said this is a shooter with a sense of humor. Not just that it's also a shooter with developed characters and a story. We don't see nearly enough games like Metal Arms.

The story in Metal Arms has you assuming the role of Glitch, a small droid with mysterious origins. Glitch was found in some ruins by a team of droids under the command of Colonel Alloy. Alloy has assembled a group of rebels in a small community known as Droid Town.

The droids have been driven into hiding by a group of robots known as the Mil-bots. These evil bots have been created by General Corrosive, a giant robot bent on taking over planet Iron Star.

Glitch may look like a mining bot, but he's got some serious skills on the battlefield. As a droid Glitch must help rid Iron Star of the Mil-bots or have his little metal hide hung on General Corrosives wall.

The weapons in Metal Arms are a lot of fun. There are some of your typical shooter weapons (machine gun, sniper rifle, grenades), but there's also EMP's which can be used to disable your enemies, also there's the control tether that allows you to take control of your enemies. I could go on for a while talking about the guns in the game, but I won't dig on like that.

In addition to its solid single player campaign Metal Arms also has death match multiplayer which though it isn't anything special can still be a lot of fun with a friend.

In conclusion Metal Arms is an incredible game that deserves the respect of all PS2 owners.
