Great story with stunning visuals and good voice acting make this an adventure that is defenitly worth playing

User Rating: 8.5 | Memento Mori (2008) PC
For starters...Memento mori is NOT boring at all if your an adventure gamer who aprrecitates a story that slowly unfolds. It's anoying to see the official gamespot reviewers bash games like this into the ground just cause its slow or the puzzles are not as anoyingly hard like in myst. To give this a 4,5 while giving Still Life 2 a 7 really shows the knowledge they have about p&c games in general. so they might aswell stop doing them and mislead readers or put them of playing these kind of games.

Anyways...back to the game. Ill be brief about the story. Its clever, well written, goes deep and you'll have to really put yourself to it to enjoy it the most. The voice-acting is more then ok, with believable accents and maybe only 1 or 2 characters with anoying voices, but they only have a small role in the game.

The character animations and models are really well done. Stuff like opening doors, or picking up items, moving chairs or so are all really well made, and look veyr believable. The 3d areas look stunning and have lots of variety. There's a lot of life in them to, cars, pedestrians, lights, smoke, weather. its all very well done and you'll enjoy sniffing around them. Everything ran smootlhy on my pc, with only one time where a line of conversation came out withouth any sound, and no movement bugs or freezes.

If you had to look for flaws in the game id say the talking options were limited, where you can respond either positively, negativly or queastionable to a charcaters question(s), not really an option to choose between different lines and go into deep conversations. But it never hindered my enjoyment of the game. Also maybe some puzzles were easy, but they were all very logical and no far fetched insanity as in some other games.

Probably the best point & click game i played so far this year
