In my honest opinion, MegaMan X5 was the last good X game to come out... until now. The Positives: - X8 removes the horrible 3D system that was tragically featured in X7 - 2 new navigators with their own special navigating skills, and of course the option to just turn them off completly is great - The "Metals" system now allows you to purchase upgrades for all of your characters. - Plenty of Rare Metals, X Armor Pieces, secret amors, secret characters, and hidden endings make for great replay value - The soundtrack is great - The voice acting is actually somewhat decent for once, much better then any X game, in my opinion - The gameplay is somewhat like a classic MegaMan game - You can pick 2 characters before each mission and switch through them throughtout the stage The Negatives: - A few stages are: poorly designed too short fustrating (especially Gigavolt Man-O-War and Avalanche Yeti's stages) - The graphics haven't gotten any better - Capcom seems to have a spike obsession - Skipping the dialoge always slows you down from getting back to action - No dissappearing-reappearing blocks! - Not enough Ride-Armor's All in all, I truely believe this is a good X game, and if Capcom just works a little harder, they can get back into their former glory.
