I think a mega man like devil may cry would be incredible or metal gear rising kinda style to a mega man game with manga style animation playing in real time that would be a sure winner. and can somebody tell me why mega man looked like a fat slob beer drinking pot belly for a character trying to get back on his feet in street fighter x Tekken hmm now that i think about it maybe that was there point in the first place.

GameSpot's Jonathan Toyad explores in-depth on why Capcom's flagship franchise is still cherished by fans and gamers. Happy 25th birthday, Blue Bomber!
The Zero and ZX series were my favorite. It's been a long time since I played Megaman, I don't care what series it branches from, I just want a new Megaman game!
Mega Man was the reason for my love of video games. For the NES Mega Man 3 was my favorite, I liked all the 8 bit MM's Except for 1 & 6. What changed everything and increased fun factor and replay was with MMX series, especially with MMX 1 & 2. IMO the series started changing direction with MMX5 and kept getting worse like with MMX7. The first time in a long time I felt the same feeling as before when playing MMX 1-3 was with Mega Man Maverick Hunter X. I was excited thinking capcom had a new thing going on here but unfortunately the sales weren't good with Maverick Hunter but there are tons of fans who loved the game and critics gave it positive reviews which kinda puzzled me but then again it was released on the PSP perhaps at the wrong time and again NOT ALOT OF PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT IT TILL LATER. So if the series fails I think Capcom made their own bed with this one. Lets promote RE or SF to hell but just quietly release our other games and hope others buy it and then afterwards beotch about low sales. Maverick Hunter a high quality game with lots of fun. Almost everything about it was awesome and if they were looking to make Mega Man with improved graphics this format is a great start.
this is one of my of my favorite series and has been the most memorable new mega man x should come out

I love this video. Totally worth watching if you're a Mega Man fan. It's still worth watching even if you're not.
I'm surprised that they haven't turned it into a first-person shooter yet... actually, that doesn't sound half bad. Mega Man has always been about the guns, plus there have been a lot of creative and fun games that have been in first-person.
@Llama345 @poster012 That was actually the first one I had in mind. I was worried when I first heard about Metroid Prime's foray into first-person, but it turned out to be one my favorite games. I also enjoyed Mega Man's transition into 3D with Mega Man Legends. As long as it isn't an ultra-bland, linear FPS, I could handle that adaption to Mega Man.
yes, this video explain in perfectly understandable terms why we love Megaman games (my personal favorites must be the SuperNES ones) Maybe that is why I can't stand a poorly made Megaman game these days. I felt a tear on my eyes now
It started going downhill starting with MM:ZXA and Star Force.
But the music for the franchise is definitely one of the best there is out there.
EVERYone must read this
-------------For all of us fans out there who have wondered as to why the blue bomber had to end his rain of greatness i say we rise up to the occasion once again and change the way the man of metal is looked at.
Think about it, in todays world MMo's go now for free with only an initial box price, since megamans downfall i've come up with a way to bring the man we love right back.
------------If you all know megamans history, then this shouldn't be a surprise. Jonathan Toyad goes on how we cherish the games. But i say he's not dead if we can all make this work, what i mean is it's time for the blue bomber to hit the best wave ever as his name in abbreviation speaks for itself.
MMO - Mega Man Online
@Shockweaver There was already plans for Megaman X online and it was scrapped. At this point I think it's better if Capcom leaves MM alone than try to force a crappy game out.
@mav_destroyer @Shockweaver As much as I love Mega Man, I agree. An online game sounds terrible.
It's simple--AND INSTRUCTIVE! Notice how many of these games are so alike from the prequels and predecessors...copy after copy with a little tweak here and a gradual shift in genre there...The game is just good, and it speaks for itself and in all of this we see that repetition is really only an issue if THE GAME JUST AIN'T THAT GOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE! Thanks for Mega Man!
I'm a mega man fan and always have been. it's a shame capcom canceled Legends 3 or make any new games featuring the blue bomber. but on the bright side (if you can call it that) at least his adventures continue in Comic book form especially the the upcoming Mega man/Sonic the Hedgehog cross over coming in 2013.
Megaman series (I prefer Rockman though) is my favourite game of all time ... And I was fanboying Capcom games back there, but now I hated Capcom the most.
Long live Mega Man. Hope to see a Mega Man collection in HD some day, mainly X but I wouldn't mind seeing everything else too.
I would love to see another 8 bit Meg Man game, such as Mega man 11! As for my fav one of all time, it's definitely MEGA MAN 2! Best Nintendo game ever and probably in my top 10 favs of all time
My favorite Mega Man game is X4, hands down! Music, story, gameplay...everything.
And what about the ZX series? It was short but I liked it!
music that starts at the 9th minute in this video... made me shed some manly tears.
what can i say, my first ever psone game was megaman x4, aand before that played all series on nes and snes, love the x series
Love Mega Man. Played it when it first started on NES, really hard and fun. Best so far is Mega Man 2 (especially because of it's influence at the time). Replayed all the 8 bit versions lately and they're still awesome. The battle networks aren't my thing, but everything else is good. Thanks Capcom for the new free download and keep doing Mega Man games.
I played so much Mega Man as a kid on the NES and SNES ... but I left after X3. I have a lot of fond memories of 2-3-4-5-6-X-7-X2 ... as a kid I could beat the whole game with only the mega buster hahaha but after X3 everything seems to have went wrong.
I have bought the aniversary edition with all original Mega Man and Mega Man X for the PS2.
I have books, CDs, games and LOTS of fond memories of him. For me, SNES era was much more Mega Man than Super Mario. ROCK MY WORLD, ROCKMAN!
Happy anniversary!! Thanks for making my teen days incredible!
I have played every single Megaman that CAPCOM has released. And my 5 favourites between them where, in order this ones:1) Rockman X4 (Not just the mechanics and gameplay were amazing, the storyline along with the Anime scenes where a rich addition to the game, making it by far the best)2) Rockman 2 (The legendary game that made me start playing games at the age of 2. I just loved this game, this one had the best soundtrack by far and some amazing designs)
3) Rockman 5 (Personally I loved this game too much, the enemies, the Protoman stage, everything)
4) Megaman Battle & Chase (I truly believe that if this game is released with actual graphics and more online competition added it would rock and be one of the coolest ever)
5) Rockman 8 (The resurrection of the classic series with a 2D cool design. Also with great Anime scenes, this game was amazing!)
Also I liked a lot the megaman power up series, only if it weren't so childish I might liked it more. The mechanics and challenges on this game (The idea of unlocking the enemies) was amazing.
Thanks for anyone who took time to read my post.
Cheers!
@ChiefFreeman From X to X3 it's in the SNES. X3 Was also released for the PSOne, along with X4 to X6.
The only thing that needs to be done is have MegaMan X (because every other version was too kiddy and lame) and put it into the MegaMan Legends gameplay formula.
Holy crap, that would be the best MegaMan game ever.... I want it now... for everything.
I grew up on Battle Network and continued onto Starforce. I played a little zx and a bit of classic Megaman. All I have to say is that I love everything Megaman and I hope Capcom will give the character some love soon, although I doubt it.
The ones that I played most, and have most fond memories, are: Mega Man 2(NES), Mega Man & Bass(SNES), Mega Man 8 - Anniversary Edition, X3, X4(SATURN).

his claim of the games being fair but hard is bull. the later megaman x games past x3 were unfairly hard. They just went out of their way to destroy you. oh theres a room full of spikes in maze form? ok so use web shot make a platform, dash to the wall shoot another web to the spikes, now wall slide down, air dash through the room ful of enemies while using web shot in the megaman size hallway where one wrong jump you will die and restart it all over again! Anyone who played X7 knows what i mean
@surfwalrus lol. I thought his comment about some of the games not being unfair was a bit of a stretch also! :)
Overall a good video, although I was pretty annoyed when they were showing clips with the music in the background that didn't match up with the level (or even game).
I'm interested to see where Megaman goes (or doesn't go) in the near future.
I can think of a lot of people that would LOVE a Vita or 3DS collection of all the Mega Man X games
The Mega Man series in particular is a franchise I hold extremely close to my heart. Growing up in post-Soviet Union Russia made it really difficult to game back in those days. Luckily I was about to import those games and since they weren't dialogue-heavy games, I was able to play and enjoy them.
