Mega Man X User Review
With a killer soundtrack, easy controls and creative bosses, MegaMan X is a must-have for the Super Nintendo.

- The Bottom Line:
- "Best in series"
When all those years ago I finally decided to give the Megaman franchise a try, X was the best one to try out first, as it was literally the introduction into the X series.
The game starts as per usual with a prologue level, this is where a slight story begins to develop. You run into Zero, another Maverick Hunter, as X has chosen to be, narrowly escaping death due to Zero efforts, the main aim of the game is the become strong enough to defeat Sigma, the leader of the Mavericks.
After the prologue level you are confronted with a choice of 8 Maverick stages, some being easier then others. Once you've chosen your Maverick stage, X begins.
A good feature of this game is the variety of weapons that you obtain by playing and defeating each boss. Nearly every weapon has a strength against another Maverick, so the key is working out just what order to complete the levels in. As would be expected, there are power ups within secret or hidden areas in the game, giving you armour upgrades and outfit upgrades.
The music that Capcom composed for this game is nothing short of amazing. The tracks all suit their designated stage well, and it helps create a hyper environment during play.
The opening game to the X franchise is a true masterpiece, and made it quite easy for Capcom to build the other titles around it. If you get this game, you will find yourself both challenged and intrigued by the old-school class of the excellent title.
Graphics - 8/10
Sound - 10/10
Gameplay - 9/10
Overall - 9/10

My 1st impressions of MMX. If you're a big fan of the classic series, MMX won't compare to it, but its still a good time
