A classic trip back to 1993, when this game broke through and started a new Megaman legacy.

User Rating: 8.6 | Mega Man X Collection PS2
I remember back in 93' when this came out, staring at my new silver covered Nintendo Power and wishing that I could get the original Megaman X that was featured. I never did get it for Christmas, but I must say I rented this game a lot... almost as much as BoF.

Anyway, as the title says this is a classic trip down memory lane for most of us. This is the Megaman X collection that features games 1-6 and sort of chronicle the early to mid days of Megaman X. Megaman X 1-3 first appeared on the SNES and were some of the best games released in their time. They were innovative, fun, and challenging. The series did tend to die off around X5, but 5-6 were still playable no doubt. The series then took a complete nose dive for X7, which was the worst to-date. However, the newest release before this disc, X8 was in my opinion, a fresh new game that shows a lot of promise as the X saga most likely starts to come to a conclusion.

In any event, this chronicle of the first six games is a solid choice for retro gamers like myself who played these back in the day when they came out, yet also a good choice for those fans who have only immersed themselves in either the original Megaman games or only the new ones on PS2. There could have been more unlockable material here, but still serves as a trip down old memory lane..... I mean who doesn't love to play as Zero in X4, or try to run up the gushing magma in X2's Deer Stag stage?

This IMO is a must buy for fans of the series, and definitely something to consider for new fans, as you are getting 6 X games here and a bonus cart game.
