Mega Man is bringing us his first ever RPG, and it is definitely one of the best

User Rating: 8.5 | Battle Network RockMan EXE GBA
Mega Man Battle Network is the first Mega Man RPG out there, and it's an all-around great game. It has a great story, it's fun to play, and it leaves players wanting more.

Here's how the plot of this game starts out:
A boy named Lan Hikari lives in the town of ACDC, where all people have devices called PETs that help them with their everyday lives. Each PET has a NetNavi, which helps navigate the internet, which a huge world to explore in this game. But an evil organization called the WWW (also known as World 3) plans on controlling the internet and has many tricks up their sleves. Lan gets involved and becomes an enemy of World 3, and he's the one who ends up having to save the world!

Mega Man Battle Network has two worlds for you to play in: The real world (as Lan) and the cyberworld (as MegaMan). While in the cyberworld, you have to encounter many different kinds of viruses and fight them with what are called battle chips (Like a deck of cards that you have, allowing you to use a variety of different attacks) as well as the oh-so-famous Megabuster weapon. There are also many boss battles in this game, some of which are optional, such as SkullMan and SharkMan, that give you awards if you win them.

Mega Man Battle Network has graphics that look pretty good for a game made in the year 2001, and they still look good to this day. The camera angle is set up so it looks like you are watching the characters from in the sky, and the camera is not a problem. The graphics are colorful and you'll take pleasure as you blow the enemies to bits and get to see a little explosion at the end.

The soundtrack of Mega Man Battle Network is decent, and will not annoy you. Some places in this game needed more fitting music, but they play calm music when everything is okay and creepier music when an evil World 3 plot is being put into action.

A breakdown of the different categories:
Plot: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Soundtrack: 7.5/10
Graphics: 8/10
Replay Value: 8.5/10

Pros and Cons:
+Great Story
+Battles are fun
+Difficulty is just right
-You can't run from battle unless you use an Escape chip
-Some puzzles aren't as fun as others

And there you have it! Mega Man Battle Network is a great RPG that is fun to play and leaves you wanting more. I would highly recommend this game to all RPG fans as well as people that have played other Battle Network games but have not tried this one! My Real Overall Score: 8.7/10
