- "Old-school"
Capcom has been developing Mega Man games for years, with many sequels and spinoffs for the technology available. This time, we see a Mega Man game designed specifically to look, sound and play like the Mega Man's of the NES era, and in the end, we have a game that feels as new as it does old. The slide and charge shot techniques are gone this time, and the platforming action may be daunting for some, but anyone familiar with the formula will feel right at home. If you take your time, find a pattern in the moving and/or disappearing platforms, you can figure out how to progress. The graphics look just like the NES games, the sound effects sound like they have been taken directly from those games. The music sounds like it was done by the same people as the NES games, although it's hard to tell if it actually was or not. If you grew up on Mega Man, and you have 800 Microsoft points, this is a no-brainer. Download it.

The only bad thing about Mega Man 9 is that Capcom passed the opportunity to expand on the series.
