Mega Man 9 is one of the best ways to spend $10 and provides hours of intense and challenging 8-bit action.

User Rating: 9 | Mega Man 9 WII
Pros: A great throwback to the classic Mega Mans of yesteryear, great music and level design, only $10

Cons: Very, very hard, especially for those who have never played a Mega Man game

It's been about ten years since the last traditional installment in the Mega Man series, and about fourteen years since the last 8-bit one. Mega Man 9 is an all-new 8-bit masterpiece that you can download on your console, and it's just as fun as the other ones that you remember.

8 stages and Wily's castle await you in Mega Man 9. And it's all extremely challenging and rewarding. The gameplay is quite simple. Run, jump, shoot. You'll fight hordes of enemy robots and at the end of each stage you'll go to battle against a robot master, and if you beat him you'll earn its weapon. The levels are very well designed and the music, as always, is just plain sweet. You can also find bolts throughout levels which act as money to buy yourself items such as extra lives and energy tanks. This aspect actually makes the game slightly easier than the others. Challenges also are in the game, 50 total. These act as achievements in a way, but sadly you don't really earn anything for them other than a pat on the back. Downloadable content and leader boards are also in the game, which further extends the games value.

MM9 is a fantastic 8-bit installment in the series and any traditional gamer out there absolutely must buy it.
